According to the recent reports, DJI is set to announce three new drones over the course of 2020. The most recent one is likely to be the Matrice 300, so as we could have probably expected, its specs were the first to leak online. The specs first appeared on Drone DJ. They write that then Matrice 300 will be accompanied by a brand new hybrid thermal camera, DJI Zenmuse H20....
Well, we all suspected it was happening at some point after patents started popping up a few months ago, but now it’s official. Sony is entering the drone market. The announcement comes with the teaser video above as well as a whole new section of their website dedicated to their future “Airpeak” drones – expected in spring 2021. While the patent earlier in the year looked like kind of a gimmicky drone, Sony says that “Airpeak will support the creativity of video creators to the fullest extent possible”, suggesting that they’re actually going to be taking filmmakers and content seriously with their new line of products....

In most countries, it’s illegal to drink and drive. But in Japan, it has now been proclaimed illegal to fly a drone while drunk. A new law has banned drunk droning, and the offenders could end up in prison for up to one year. The new law came into force this week, and it targets all drones weighing more than 200g. Soon, Facebook will be rebranding its platforms so that it adds its name to them. At Facebook’s F8 developer conference, the company has announced some exciting news: Facebook and RED are teaming up to develop a high-end, professional VR camera system. It will reportedly be able to capture hi-res imagery in so-called 6DoF (six degrees of freedom). The viewers will be able to explore the high-quality content in real time within virtual reality. What is Figure Ground Relationship? Figure Ground Relationship is the relationship of the subject you wish the viewer to focus on and how it relates to the background / foreground. Most people refer to this as a “Silhouette” however it goes much deeper than this. Instead of thinking “This shot works because there’s a silhouette in it”, I would like to push forward the idea that by using FGR we can allow the thought process of “This shot works because we can clearly see the subject’s outline”....

One of the things we were excited about in photokina was the RODE booth. During the Fujifilm X Summit in Shibuya, Japan last weekend, Fujifilm announced the X-Pro3 camera. It’s coming in three variants, all made from titanium for extra durability.
