Soundcam Uses A Camera And 64 Microphones To Let You See Sounds

When we hear of “seeing sounds”, we think of conditions like synesthesia, or perhaps a mind-altering substance here and there. But being able to see sounds is an actual technological thing, too. The 41 Megapixel Panasonic Gh6 Could Be Announced This August

It feels like the Panasonic GH5 has been out forever but it’s actually only been three years, having been released in March 2017. Camera technology, particularly when it comes to video, has come a long way in those three short years though. The GH5 is starting to feel a little left behind, especially with Panasonic’s focus on their full-frame mirrorless video offering. Promising to not give up on Micro Four Thirds, however, it seems Panasonic is sticking to their word....

The Abc Of Photography Types

Fox Talbot: Dawn of the Photograph opened at Media Space, part of the Science Museum, in London last week. Using a mixture of images, artefacts, letters, and publications, the exhibition charts the development of photography by William Henry Fox Talbot against the backdrop of his contemporaries. For anyone with a smidgen of interest in the history or science of photography, it’s a must-see exhibition. As I wandered about the exhibition, getting high on its heady mix of photography and history, it occurred to me that a crib sheet of the early photographic processes, detailing their steps and requirements as well as their progress and their pitfalls, would be a useful article....

The Atoll Is A Unique Take On The Traditional Tripod Lens Collar For Easy Vertical Shooting For Stills And Video

At first, the Atoll might seem like just a regular tripod collar, the kind that many of us have used with our lenses for years – at least telephoto lenses. But Atoll comes with a bit of a twist (no pun intended) that allows you to get that lens collar functionality with lenses that weren’t actually designed to have a collar attached. It’s essentially two mounting plates in one – one that goes on top of your tripod head and one that mounts underneath your camera – connected via a rotating ring that goes around your lens and allows you to easily rotate it without having to deal with the inherent issues of ball heads and blocking cable connections....

The Dji Mavic Pro Footage Looks Like A Cheap Hd Action Camera Compared To The Phantom 4

For some, the image quality is going to take a distant second to ease of use and convenience. There’s no doubt that the new DJI Mavic Pro is super convenience. Fitting into a small bag, or a large pocket, it’s easy to take wherever you go. But, is that convenience going to be enough? Is it going to make Phantom 4 owners sell up and replace it with a drone that costs almost as much and doesn’t offer the same quality?...
