Insta360 has announced a big update to the Insta360 ONE R and Insta360 ONE X2 cameras with new firmware that implements their new Quick FlowState in-camera stabilisation, replacing the “Basic” stabilisation and rivalling the FlowState feature in their apps. Irix has today announced the addition of the new Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 to their cinema lens lineup. Teased a few days ago, it joins the 11mm T4.3, 45mm T1.5 and 150mm T3.0 Macro lenses in the Irix range of cinema lenses. Irix says that it’s designed for super-high-resolution 8K video, with minimal distortion, and compact and lightweight construction. Like most cinema lenses, it features built-in toothed gears on the focus and aperture rings for use with follow focus systems and is weather sealed to stand up to a wide range of shooting environments....

Last week, a rumor started circulating that Fujifilm would not be attending Photokina 2020. Now it’s officially confirmed: Fujifilm is bailing out. PetaPixel obtained an official confirmation from both Photokina and Fujifilm that the company won’t take part in the upcoming show. In a statement, Fujifilm explained the reasons behind this decision. It sounds like they took everything into consideration: “After considering exhibiting from an overall perspective, including the launch timing of several exciting new products next year, our sales promotion plans, and cost effectiveness, we have decided not to take part in photokina 2020,” the company writes....

Basketball player Kendrick Nunn has been sued for copyright infringement after allegedly cropping out the photo credit and posting an image to his Instagram without the photographer’s permission. Sports photographer Steven Mitchell filed the lawsuit with Florida District Court. Mitchell, alleges that Nunn deliberately removed his attribution and credit that accompanied the original image which was taken in 2019 when Nunn played for the Miami Heat. Mitchell licensed his sports photographs primarily through Imagn Content Services, a division of the USA Today Media Network....

Leica has announced a reissue of their Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.2 ASPH lens. As the name suggests, it’s designed for the Leica M mount. Its optical design is virtually identical to the original Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.2, released in 1966, which they say provides the same classic, vintage feel. It’s the third reissue of Leica’s M mount Classics range, adding to the Summaron-M 25mm f/5.6 and the Thambar-M 90mm f/2.2. Two versions of the lens are being released....

Leica has launched a new Leica M-E (Typ 240) camera to replace the Leica M-E (Typ 220). It’s aimed at bringing in newcomers to the Leica M system, hoping to entice them in with a low budget price.
