A Review Of H Hnel Pro Cube2 Battery Charger

In recent years we have seen a demand for lighter and smaller cameras, and manufacturers have responded to that demand, mainly with mirrorless cameras, but despite the concern, on the part of photographers, to have less weight hanging from their necks or shoulders the same has not happened with what we carry in our backpacks. If you are like me, the space in your backpacks is never enough. I always find something else to take with me....

Adobe Brings A Major Features To Lightroom Cc Including Tone Curve And Split Toning

While some are still getting over the shock of Lightroom’s CC makeover, others are happily plodding along with the renamed Lightroom Classic. Some users have put off making the switch to new CC due to their familiarity with Classic, although some feel it simply lacks important features available with its older sibling. Some of those missing features, including the tone curve and split toning, are now available inside Lightroom CC as part of a major update....

After Four Decades Of Canon Photojournalist David Burnett Switches To Sony

The desire to switch brands has never really been there for me. That’s not to say that I believe the brand I shoot is particularly the best, just that there doesn’t seem to be much point. The gear I use gives me what I need, and all the brands seem to leapfrog each other every year or two anyway. But there are an awful lot of people switching over to Sony right now....

Aftershoot Culls And Edits Your Photos In The Time It Takes To Make A Cup Of Tea

Wedding photographers have it tough. Not only are they regularly working weekends, but they are also doing upwards of 12-hour days, shooting every genre of photography you can think of. No, now they have literally thousands of images to trawl through and cull, and that’s even before retouching begins....

Airport Scanners Will Destroy Your Unexposed Film Says Fuji

In October 2019, it was announced that some US airports would start using new Computer Tomography (CT) scanners. After a recent warning from Kodak, Fujifilm has also issued an advisory for its customers regarding these changes. The company warns photographers not to expose their unprocessed Instax and other film to new airport scanners. Along with the warning, Fuji also introduces some guidelines for handling film when boarding an airplane, because exposing it to CT and X-Ray scanners will destroy it....

Amazon S Unlimited Cloud Storage Is Now Available In The Uk For Only 55 A Year

Even as somebody who doesn’t like cloud storage, that’s a hell of a deal. £55/yr to store everything. DropBox and Google Drive cost £6/mo for a mere 1TB of space. Dropbox does offer a small discount if you pay a year up front, though. I have what I feel is a fairly decent backup solution in place already, but many do not. Unlimited cloud storage for such a low price means you can have everything backed up easily....

Apollo App For Ios Creates Cool Lighting Effects Better Than Apple S Portrait Lighting

If the iPhone’s Portrait Lighting already impresses you, then you better check out Apollo. This $1.99 iOS app adds immersive lighting effects that are–dare I say–better than what Apple’s version offers. The Apollo app uses depth map from dual cameras to create the effects so, it only currently works with the iPhone 7 Plus, 8 Plus and X. Nevertheless, it does a great job at applying different lighting effects at any angle....

Astronomers Capture Tail Of Asteroid After Nasa Impact

Astronomers captured an extraordinary image of the vast plume of dust and debris blasted from the surface of the asteroid struck by NASA’s spacecraft last week. The image shows at least a 10,000-kilometer-long dust trail. The image was captured by NOIRlab’s SOAR telescope based in Chile. The plume or tail is called the ejecta and is similar to those seen trailing a comet. It was captured two days after NASA’s DART experiment where they deliberately crashed an unmanned spacecraft into the asteroid Dimorphos to see if they could successfully alter its course....

Being Limited By My Landlocked Location I Bought 1 500 Pounds Of Sand For A Beach Photo Shoot And Got A Single Photo Out Of It

I bought a stack of foreign Vogue magazines for inspiration, and inside of Vogue Italia I saw an amazing photo of Alessandra Ambrosio on a beach at night (the image at the bottom of this page). I tucked it away in a manila envelope labeled “Possible Shoots”. For a year and a half, every time I would create a new mood board, I would see this gorgeous photo. Slowly over time an idea grew that I could manage to have a similar shoot, without having to leave my studio....

Blending For Composite Two Ways To Get It Right

I recently created an image for the Dark Realm Collective summer art pack, which featured a sea demon causing mayhem for a toddlers bath time. The image was being shot on location. I obviously couldn’t shoot the child at the same time as the model in makeup as it would have been terrifying for him. So I had to capture each character separate. With this in mind I decided to blend two scenes together, to make it seem like they were both shot together....

Camera Conspiracies Isn T Happy As He Explains Why I M Leaving Pansonic Forever

The whole “I’m switching from this brand to that brand” or “I’m done with whatever brand” videos have been done to death, but this one from Kasey at Camera Conspiracies popped up on my feed last night after the announcement of the Panasonic S5 and I have to say, it’s pretty hilarious. He talks about Panasonic’s strengths (which are now mostly at least matched by the competition) as well as their weaknesses in the way that only Kasey can....

Canon 7D Mark Ii Mirrorless Successor The Canon Eos R7 Rumoured To Be Announcing In Late 2022

Well, it’s been a minute or two since we last heard about Canon finally creating a follow-up to their popular Canon EOS 7D Mark II, the APS-C sports and wildlife shooter announced in 2014 and reportedly discontinued in 2019. There were reports at the end of 2020 that an “EOS R7” was spotted out in the wild, with many expecting an imminent announcement. It never came. APS-C RF mount rumours started to hot back up again last September, though, but since then it’s basically been radio silence – except for a vague mention of an APS-C RF mount camera coming this year....
