Astrophotographer Eliot Herman from Tuscon, Arizona was outside to photograph the partial lunar eclipse that was visible for part of the world in late November. The night was cloudy, however, and Eliot didn’t manage to capture anything that he was particularly proud of. Aside from this unbelievably rare image of 3 halos surrounding the moon that is! Herman used a Sigma 8mm fisheye lens with his Nikon D800 to photograph the moon....

After more than 50,000 earthquakes, the residents of Iceland were prepared for a volcano eruption. And last Friday, it finally happened. Around 300,000 cubic meters (10.5 million cubic feet) of lava poured out, attracting visitors from all over Iceland. Photographer Iurie Belegurschi was one of them, and he took some stunning aerial shots of the eruption, showing all its beauty and power. Iurie is a professional landscape photographer living in Iceland since 2006....

Whether or not you like Salvador Dali’s work, it’s hardly possible you haven’t seen one of the most famous photos of him: Dali Atomicus. It’s on the TIME’s list of 100 most influential photos of all time. It was a result of collaboration between Salvador Dali and photographer Philippe Halsman and it was captured in 1948. On 25 December, while trying out his new camera he got for Christmas, photographer Robbie Valenzuela got robbed. A thief snatched the camera and jumped into his car. Valenzuela reportedly held onto the car for several blocks, which caused him to suffer a major head injury. Hemet police reports that the incident took place on Christmas morning, 25 December around 9 a.m. The victim’s brother, Chris Valenzuela, spoke to NBC4 Palm Springs about what had happened....

Well, these comments made by German film director and photographer Wim Wenders are going to upset a few people. In a talk with the BBC, he says that he believes photography is dead. That it’s been killed by mobile phones. For over a week, people in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota have been protesting after a white police officer shot a Black man dead. And what started as a peaceful protest turned into havoc on Friday. On the sixth night of the protest, police officers reportedly targeted photojournalists and other members of the press. They forced them to lie on the ground, photographed their faces and press credentials, and some of them were reportedly even detained....

Premiere Pro sees new workflow and performance increases, along with support for Rec2100 HDR editing. After Effects gets new 3D Transform Gizmos and camera navigation tools. A couple of months ago, Sigma announced two new prime lenses: 135mm F/1.8 DG HSM Art and Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art lens. After the 135mm, the 14mm is now only days away from preorders.
