Digitalfoto has announced their new FS-100S bi-colour COB LED light, and the first review already appears to be up on YouTube. It’s an interesting if slightly odd-looking LED light in the fact that it seems to be emulating the look of a (somewhat large) mirrorless camera. It features a “Mini Bowens Mount” and comes with a gobo projector lens and an adapter for using the projector on lights with regular Bowens mounts....

Dji Teams Up With Line To Produce Weird Social Media Animal Themed Spark Drones

It’s an odd pairing, DJI and messaging app Line. They’ve come together to produce Spark drones themed on one of their “Line Friend” characters. That character is a bear, called Brown. The newly themed Spark is, naturally, brown. And it features pictures of the bear on both the drone itself and the controller. I’d never actually even heard of Line until I saw this float across my screen. So, I suppose from that side of the equation, it’s helping Line out by letting more people know it exists....

Dobby Drone Maker Zerotech Takes Aim At Dji With This Folding Mavic Look A Like

ZeroTech, makers of the Dobby selfie drone appear to be working on something new. At least, they are if these leaked photos are anything to go by. Apparently called the “ZeroTech Hunter”, this new drone bears more than a passing resemblance to the DJI Mavic Pro. Well, it does when it’s folded up. Opened out, the illusion is somewhat lost. Judging by how low this thing sits on the surface, it looks like a very pale imitation of the Mavic, although there aren’t many pictures to go by just yet....

Documenting War Mathew Brady On The American Battlefield

Eventually, Brady secured permission from President Lincoln himself to travel to the battlefields with the express purpose of documenting the conflict. Armed with a wet-plate camera and portable darkroom, he set out to immortalize the realities of a war that not only shaped the course of American history but, de facto, the course of modern history. Brady’s exhibits and galleries, often filled with graphic images of rotting corpses on the battlefield, brought the realities of war to the home front for the mostly-untouched North....

Edit Your Videos Using A Game Controller

If, like some, you spend the same amount of time playing Doom 4K as you are editing videos, you will absolutely like this hack for using a game controller to control premiere. Editor Casey Faris has a pretty sweet setup using Logitech Gamepad controller (about $20). The secret sauce is the actual mapping of the buttons. Casey uses a free software called xPadder (here is a link to the free version) Of course, using the gamepad only makes sense if it actually expedites your workflow, if it makes you go slow, there is no point in using it....
