Earlier this year, Venus Optics launched two wide-angle lenses for Nikon Z. The company is now expanding its Z-mount line, along with the Canon RF mount line. Three of Venus Optics’ most popular lenses are now available for Nikon’s and Canon’s full-frame mirrorless cameras. The 12mm f/2.8, 25mm f/2.8, and 100mm f/2.8 already exist in a few other mounts, but they are now available to Nikon Z and Canon RF users as well....

Not long ago, photographer Marc Weisberg shared with us a very unpleasant experience he had with FedEx. They failed to deliver the gear on time for his workshop, which cost him $1000. The article reached DIYP, as well as other blogs and social media pages. And eventually, FedEx made a response. Although this is an isolated case, the response is apologetic and sounds genuinely regretful. But if it weren’t for the huge social media buzz, who knows if it would end that way....

Lithium-Ion batteries are not to be trifled with. They can be very dangerous things, as evidenced by massive recalls from companies like Samsung and Apple. You have to be very careful when flying with them, and some devices aren’t even allowed on flights anymore. Manufacturers do everything they can to try to ensure their batteries are safe, there is always a risk that one can go bad. When it comes to cool projects with vintage cameras, Markus Hofstätter is one of the names that immediately come to mind. Many of his portraits were shot on his faithful old Century No.2 camera. However, its bellow started to leak light, and Markus decided it was time to make an effort and repair it. So, he got to work and restored the 100-year-old beauty. Melina Roberge pleaded guilty for smuggling 209 pounds (95 kilos) of cocaine into the Sydney Harbour in 2016. As Resource Magazine writes, Roberge was smuggling $21 million worth of cocaine during her travel on the MS Sea Princess luxury cruise ship....

Chinese manufacturer, Yongnuo, has announced a new version of its 35mm f/1.4 lens for Canon DSLRs. It remains largely unchanged from the existing 35mm f/1.4 model for Nikon and Canon in design, except for the addition of the “Ultrasonic Wave Motor” (UWM) which should offer faster and quieter focusing performance than the previous model. Other than the motor, the specs of the new Yongnuo YN35mm F1.4C DF UWM are essentially identical to the previous model Yongnuo YN35mm f/1....

Non-fungible tokens or NFTs still seem to be all the rage. It probably comes as no surprise that Meta wants to be a part of it, so from now on you can buy and sell NFTs on Instagram. The new feature has been released as a test for some users in the U.S. As Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced, NFTs will become available on Facebook soon, too. This way, creators can offer their work, collectors can buy it, and Instagram gets yet another purpose that’s not photography....
