It’s easy to forget that Nikon still actually has a 35mm film SLR in its current lineup. That camera is the Nikon F6. Released in 2004, it was Nikon’s final flagship in their 35mm SLR lineup, so it’s no surprise that they haven’t quite been able to let it go just yet, despite the fact that their DSLRs are starting to be made obsolete by their new mirrorless releases. Well, now, Nikon Japan has announced that they’re recalling some of their F6 bodies over excessive levels of dibutyl phthalate (DBP) contained within certain parts of the camera....

If you use the popular photo sharing website 500px, there’s a big change some of you might not have noticed. Free accounts used to be allowed to upload 20 photos per week. As it appears, this number has been reduced to 7 uploads per week, and if you want to upload more, you’ll have to pay. When you go to the “Fair Storage Policy” section of 500px Terms of Service, you’ll notice that it reads: “Free accounts are limited to a maximum of 7 new photographs/images per week and 2,000 photographs/images in total (approximately 60Gb of storage, and 1Gb of data transfer from profile and portfolios per month)....

Arizona state legislature just passed a law which bans the filming of police at a close distance. Unauthorised filming of police within a distance of 8 feet could result in fines or jail time. Well, it looks like Canon’s going to beat Nikon to the punch when it comes to a mirrorless flagship camera. Canon Rumors and Nikon Rumors are reporting that the upcoming Canon EOS R3 and Nikon Z9 mirrorless cameras are going to be officially announced in September and December respectively. There’s no word on exactly when in September and December the cameras will be announced, but the earlier date for the Canon EOS R3 makes sense as I’ve already seen at least one Olympics photographer posting that they have one to take with them....

Well, this is quite interesting. Canon Rumors reports that Canon are sending out “very elaborate” invites to select Canon dealers for a mirrorless camera announcement next month. That in itself isn’t all that interesting. Manufacturers come out with new kit all the time. What makes it interesting, at least to me, is their description of the image contained on the invitation. This suggests that there’s something special about the sensor that makes it a big deal to whatever this new camera is....

Word of an impending Canon 90D has been floating around for a couple of months now. Initially, many suspected that Canon might be looking to announce replacement models for the EOS 80D and EOS 7D Mark II. More recently, however, it looks like Canon is planning to kill off the 7D line entirely, replacing both models with a single new camera. Now, Canon Watch is reporting that an EOS 90D might be announced as soon as next month....

When Adobe announced their new line of clothes a little while ago, we all caught on that it was a joke pretty quickly. This time, though, with April 1st still over a week away, not so much.
